depression weight loss medication

Will thyroid medication make you lose weight?
I've been improperly diagnosed with fibromyalgia (not a single tender/trigger point) and my new doc suspects I have hypothyroidism. I've done all the tests, but the test for thyroid. Every doc I've been to was lazy about evaluating my condition and this one really seems like he knows what he's doing.
I have arthritic pains all over my body at any given time, unhealthy, dry hair that splits easily, brittle rigid nails, memory loss/problems with application, depression/anxiety, edema where my socks will leave an impression in my skin, and more.
Before my pregnancy I was 135lbs, and now I am 5'7" and weight 145, so I'm wondering if the medication will make me lose weight. I do workout a few times a week, but would really like to kick it into hight gear and lose a few more lbs once I start to feel better. The only prob is that I am worried the medication will make me lose too much weight too dramatically. Will the meds make you lose weight? How much and how fast? Your thoughts???
Hormones are a crazy intricate system. Everyone is different. If you do have *hypo* thyroid-ism, as opposed to *hyper*thyroid-ism, the condition can slow down your metabolism.
If this is corrected with meds, naturally your metabolism should speed back up. If the meds are regulated to the correct levels, you should end up just where you want to be with weight. Given that you maintain the right diet/caloric intake, and exercise.
How fast you'll lose weight depends on so many things, you won't know until you do it. Again everyone is different, so no one can really say for you.. Good luck!
